Village Nurse Manager

Karan is the village nurse manager, working within the team at Belong Morris Feinmann, a vibrant community village that includes independent living apartments and specialist households. The team provides 24-hour nursing and dementia care. Karan recently won the national accolade for Palliative Care/End of Life services at the Great British Care Awards for her work at Belong Village.

What’s the story of their career to date?

Within her career, Karan has had the opportunity to work within a number of different specialties. Her career progression led her to work as a Senior Clinical Practitioner within emergency and critical care at an acute hospital. Karan then went on to transfer her knowledge and skills within private care, providing clinical expertise as a nurse with Belong and successfully gaining a promotion to become nurse manager.

What do they do?

Within her role, Karan promotes individualised multi-professional care for people, encompassing emotional, psychological, social and spiritual needs. Karan’s main responsibility is to ensure high quality standards of personal care, encompassing individual choice. She does this by coordinating a nursing team that is trained and well led to deliver care.

What’s the best thing about their role?

Karan’s passion for her role comes from making a difference for people and striving to act as an advocate with their best interests in mind. Karan also really enjoys working as part of a team, and feels that there is no doubt that team service really flourishes under an effective manager. She knows it’s a privilege to work with such diverse, energetic and focused people who work tirelessly to promote the beliefs of the organisation.
