What’s the story of their career to date?

When Chris left school he went on to complete an A* in his IT A level but hadn’t yet decided what his career path was going to be. Chris began looking at vacancies and found and apprenticeship in Business Administration with the NHS, he applied for the role and was successful in his application! Chris completed the 18 month apprenticeship achieving a Btec National Diploma in Business and Administration, going on to successfully secure his current permanent position of Administration Assistant

What do they do?

Chris’s day to day duties include stock management, he has to ensure that equipment and resources are available for weekly projects taking place. Chris arranges meetings for a number of managers, booking rooms for meetings to take place, managing diaries and taking minutes at regular meetings throughout the week. Chris inputs lots of data on to a finance tracker, printing information from the tracker to support weekly finance meetings, ensuring the information on the tracker is accurate. Within his role, Chris engages with lots of other teams within the hospital and enjoys supporting them whenever he can

What’s the best thing about their role?

Chris feels that he is gaining lots of experience within his current role, having lots of support from the great team that he works with. Chris has received lots of praise for his role within the team, inspiring other teams to recruit an apprentice in the future!

Where are they going from here?

Chris sees his future career staying with the NHS, hoping to complete further qualifications to enable him to improve in his skills and abilities to then go on to progress further in his career aspirations
