Hajra became a dental nurse apprentice after deciding to have a change in career; she has almost completed her dental nurse apprenticeship which she has thoroughly enjoyed. A friend informed her about the apprenticeship and she found information on the website: http://www.cmft.nhs.uk/dental
Hajra works Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.30pm and works one in six Saturday mornings, one day a week is spent at the dental college
Hajra was surprised to find that dental nursing is predominantly about patient care and dental nurses are the Super Heroes of the practice as they consistently ensure that the practice runs smoothly, providing a friendly environment for the patient
Within the Apprenticeship framework, Hajra is working towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Health- Dental Nursing, which has supported her in understanding of all the procedures during treatments to enable her to assist the dentist efficiently
Hajra has had lots of support from her assessor when meeting deadlines for course work to be handed in and the team at her dental practice also support this, often allowing time in the week for course work to be completed
Hajra really enjoys working with her team at the dental practice that she works and feels flattered that patients remember her from when she first started as an apprentice, complimenting on how she has progressed
Hajra has gained permanent employment at the practice that she works and with the support of the practice plans to do two further post registration qualifications and to become a dental hygienist in the future
