Georgia is an apprentice dental nurse working in a dental environment, she has always enjoyed going to the dentist finding it really interesting and found this apprenticeship vacancy and found out about this opportunity from a friend that had completed the apprenticeship, directing her to the dental school website:

What does their working week look like?

Georgia works Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm and spends one day a week in the dental college

What else are they getting out of it?

Within the Apprenticeship framework, Georgia is working towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Health – Dental Nursing and feels that she has learnt lots of new and interesting skills during her apprenticeship

How are they supported?

Georgia spends one day each week in the dental college and finds that she has time to complete her course work within this time, she also has a really supportive mentor at the dental practice that has also completed an apprenticeship in dental nursing

What’s the best thing about it?

Georgia enjoys all aspects of her role, especially that she has a really great team that she works with and that she loves working in a dentist environment helping patients realise that it isn’t really scary and has learnt to be really empathetic with people

Where are they going from here?

Georgia has now gained a permanent position at her practice as a dental nurse and once she has gained her General Dental Council Registration at the end of her apprenticeship Georgia wants to look into a career in the army as a dental nurse
