What’s the story of their career to date?

Upon leaving school Jamila went on to college successfully completing a L3 Btec National Diploma in Health and Social Care, before having a break in her career to have a baby. After a break of 3 years Jamila applied for her current role and was successful in her application having recently completed her first six months in this role and thoroughly enjoys coming to work each day

What do they do?

Every day is different for Jamila, as part of her role she arranges for trainers to deliver training to newly recruited staff, as well as delivering refresher mandatory training herself to existing staff. Jamila ensures that all training competencies are recorded accurately on spreadsheets and saved accordingly. Jamila’s role also requires her to answer and respond to telephone enquiries from a number of different people which she coordinates and directs as needed. Within her role Jamila also carries out spot checks to ensure that the Carers are carrying out their duties to the standard required, gaining regular positive feedback from the families of the people they support

What is the best part about their role?

Jamila really enjoys supporting the Carers within their role as she massively appreciates the great work they do on a daily basis, caring and supporting people in the local community
