Hasham is a Carer and a valued member of the domiciliary team at The Care Company Plus, working out in the local community promoting independency and dignity and delivering domiciliary care to support people to live independently and comfortably in their own homes
Hasham began his career working in retail before deciding that he wanted to study medicine. Hasham retook his GCSE’s to gain the necessary grades and is now completing an Access to Medicine. Hasham decided to work as a Carer in order to gain experience and support his application to university. This has proved to be really beneficial to Hasham as he has now just been accepted to study medicine at Southampton University
Hasham supports clients who have returned home after being in hospital, that have a number of different disabilities and mental health problems. Hasham’s role supports in lowering the risk of a return to hospital, supporting his clients with personal care, exercises, meal times and general care and interaction. Whilst in his role as a carer Hasham has gained so much experience and understands that every client is different and their care is individual to them
Hasham has received lots of training to support him in his role and feels he has been given lots of support from his employer. He feels that the best thing about his role is making a difference and seeing the positive results of working with his clients
Hasham feels that he is directly making an impact to society and to someone’s life; he also believes that what he has learnt from this role he would never have learnt elsewhere in any other role
