Corinne is a Supported Placement Officer working within the team at PossAbilities. Corrine’s role is to recruit the right people to become a provider of a supported placement whereby they offer a room with support and guidance to a person aged 16+ and given the necessary training at PossAbilities to support them in their role of a provider. Corinne has providers who have worked with her for a great number of years and who really enjoy the service they provide to people that need the support
After becoming a Mum at an early age, Corinne began her career working within homeless hostels gaining lots of experience with people who had alcohol addiction or suffering from domestic abuse. Corrine began her role as a Supported Placement Officer in 2001 and thoroughly enjoys the work she does to support young people who may be a child in need or under the care system, have learning disabilities or be an ex offender
Every day is different for Corinne, managing a case load of providers to ensure they adhere to the policies and procedures involved in being a supported placement provider. Corinne does regular 12 week visits to ensure both the provider and the service user are happy and is available at any time for both the provider and the service user to speak to, should they have any concerns. Corinne regularly supports the service users that are within her case load to attend meetings, court appearances and appointments and is usually the person that they would speak to in a crisis
Corinne feels that the best part of her role is the people that she supports, being able to give a vulnerable person the chance to have a little bit of stability and a chance to get on with their lives
Corinne has completed a foundation degree supported by PossAbilities and is currently really happy within her role. Corinne gets a great deal of satisfaction from giving support and guidance to the people she works with each day
