Amie - Support Worker

Who’s this?

Amie is a Support Worker, working within the City Care Partnership (CCP) team. Amie assists individuals to live their lives to the fullest and supports people in all aspects of health and wellbeing, independent living skills and community inclusion

What’s the story of their career to date?

Amie started at City Care Partnership in 2011 and over the years has worked in several settings supporting a diverse range of individuals. Amie has gained extensive knowledge in the different aspects of care for each individual, such as health and well being of different age groups and abilities and feels that working with such an interesting group of people has enabled her to learn a lot about herself too

What do they do?

A typical day for Amie begins with a cup of tea and handover with the team so everyone is aware of the day’s plans and the role they will undertake as tasks can vary daily depending on the individual being supported. Amie feels that CCP have a really good community presence and support individuals to engage in a range of activities and within her role regularly uses local sports centres, entertainment facilities and shopping centres with the people she cares for. Amie supports a young lady who volunteers for a local food bank, and is currently working to enhance the lady’s skills to be able to attend her sessions independently

She currently really enjoy s the role she plays within her service, She is able to concentrate on the smaller details of peoples care plans to make sure they can live their lives to the fullest. Being a support worker means being a great role model and this means a lot to Amie, who also loves working within such an awesome team and has made many great friends whilst at CCP

Where are they going from here?

After completing her L2 in health and social care Amie has been able to carry out assessments as part of her daily duties. Having recently returned from maternity leave Amie is really happy in her current role and feels that CCP have been brilliant in helping her to fit her working hours in and around her family
