Sahil is currently undertaking a two year Level 4 Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Apprenticeship in partnership with the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) and works across a number of sites throughout the North West region
After successfully completing his GCSE’s, Sahil began an apprenticeship with a company in Media City, but unfortunately the company went into liquidation which left Sahil out of work for a short time. Sahil began looking on the GOV.UK website and came across apprenticeships in the NHS, this really appealed to him as he feels the NHS is structured and established and therefore his apprenticeship would be more secure. Sahil was successful in his application and is currently enjoying his role as an ICT Apprentice
Sahil’s daily tasks form part of an incident and request work list, dealing with the daily issues of systems and equipment. He carries out routine maintenance and repairs of IT systems and provides telephone support from the ICT service desk, giving technical advice and guidance when needed to resolve IT issues.
Sahil really enjoys working within his team and being part of the bigger picture, He really likes the fact that he is not working in an office all day, and working across a number of different sites makes him feel really independent
Once Sahil completes his apprenticeship, he is hoping to continue his career in the NHS as he feels that it is a great organisation to work in. His aim is to focus on a specific field and looking forward to working in other parts of software engineering.
